The diversity and excellence of plumbers from across Queensland has been recognised with the announcement of the finalists for the 2018 Plumbing and Gas Industry Awards, shining a light on plumbing and gas excellence.
The prestigious plumbing and gas annual awards, now in their nineteenth year, are about celebrating individuals and companies who are leaders in the plumbing and gas industry, including the women succeeding in a traditionally male dominated field.
Hosted by the Master Plumbers’ Association of Queensland (MPAQ), along with Event Sponsor, Tradelink, the presentation dinner will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday 20 July 2018.
Finalists for the BUSSQ Service Excellence award, Pasfield Plumbing Solutions from Beenleigh said on their social media account, “We are so very excited to even be a finalist for the Plumbing and Gas Industry Awards!”
“We love all our customers and we love working for awesome people, without them there is no us. We have always been so appreciative of the support we receive as a new local business.”
This sell-out event will play host to special guests within the industry including the Minister for Housing and Public Works, Digital Technology and Sport, the Hon. Mick de Brenni MP, the Shadow Minister for Housing and Public Works, Energy, Innovation and Digital Technology, Michael Hart MP, Senator for Queensland, Senator Anthony Chisholm, State Secretary for the Plumbers Union Qld, Gary O’Halloran, Commissioner of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission, Brett Bassett, and Executive Director of Building Industry and Policy at the Department of Housing and Public Works, Logan Timms.
Seven News presenter, Kendall Gilding will be the MC for the night announcing the finalists and award recipients of seventeen award categories.
MPAQ’s Executive Director, Penny Cornah, has praised the growth of the program this year, with the large amount of nominations submitted, and higher caliber of projects put forward.
“Our industry continues to develop in leaps and bounds, with the level of competition in 2018 exceeding previous years,” she said.
“It was challenging for our judges this year to determine our finalists and winners, as the level of professionalism shown in all the nominations was exceptional. As a profession, the emphasis on further training and development is prominent, and the advantages of this increase in upskilling is reflected in the innovative approaches to work and business operating methods.”
“It is so important that the Association acknowledges the exceptional work that plumbers, gasfitters and other industry individuals play by protecting the health and safety of the community.”
