Women's Plumbing Alliance Industry Events

A successful and strong plumbing and gas industry is an industry that knows no age, gender, or race. This year, the ladies of the industry took to the spotlight and showcased the great work that they have done at the Plumbing and Gas Industry Awards. Let’s get to know the women on and off the tools who were celebrated at the recently held Awards night.

Brianna Baker - Tropical Coast Plumbing

Brianna Baker has quickly established herself as a natural leader in the plumbing and gas industry. Her confidence and willingness to challenge herself, even in the face of obstacles, are truly inspiring. Brianna has fostered a positive work culture, something her team appreciates daily.

She is regarded for her resiliency, never letting challenges deter her from her passion for the industry. As a proactive leader and role model for other females in the trade, Brianna consistently offers valuable advice and paves the way for future generations. Her achievements in such a short time are remarkable, and the judging panel commended her impact and dedication.

“As a woman in the construction industry, it has its challenges like anything else, however, this industry would have to be one of the most rewarding to work in. The support and encouragement I have from my team have aided me in doing my part to battle the stereotypes and help other woman feel welcome and safe in a predominantly male industry. I aim to inspire other young women who are considering to enter the industry and demonstrate that youth and gender are not barriers to success,” said Brianna.

Congratulations, Brianna, on this well-deserved recognition.

Over the last 10 years, Toni has advanced from apprentice to Plumbing Officer, showcasing her resilience and determination in overcoming challenges, including stepping away from the tools. Her leadership and dedication make her a true role model within the industry.

“I would love to be a role model that changes someone else life, because they see me and say, ‘If she can do it, I can do it.’ To be recognised by MPAQ for my last 16 years in the industry and to show people that the plumbing, drainage and gas industry has many more pathways than the trade itself, would be incredible. Where I can I always try give back to the industry,” said Toni.

Congratulations, Toni, for your accomplishments. Your journey inspires and paves the way for other women in the trade.
