MPAQ Charity Partner
In 2025, MPAQ is supporting Friends with Dignity - a registered charity providing practical programs to assist victim-survivors of domestic violence in collaboration with refuge and crisis centres. Friends with Dignity is 100% self-funded and does not receive any government funding. They are run entirely by a small team and passionate and dedicated team of volunteers.
Friends with Dignity recognises that domestic violence does not discriminate. It affects adults and children irrespective of race, ethnicity, or socio-economic standing and our programs are available, on referral, to any individual or family seeking assistance. Built on the foundation that change is affected through community engagement, their programs encourage individuals, groups, and organisations to actively initiate change by providing tangible ways in which we all can Step Up, Speak Out and Support.
- Sanctuary program where working with the community, the organisation sources pre-loved and new household items to fully furnish homes (Sanctuaries) for victim-survivors of domestic and family violence enabling them to move forward with purpose, dignity, and hope.
- Urgent Request program provides essential items to victim-survivors and refuge centres which may include household items and crisis packs of personal care items.
- Little Friends program aims to ensure that child victim-survivors are not disadvantaged in the transition to a safe environment by supplying items designed to provide comfort and educational support.
- National Little Friends Scholarship Program provides annually monetary scholarships to children who have faced domestic and family violence throughout Australia. These scholarships give these children the ability to either further their education and/or participate in extra-curricular activities that they may not be able to pursue due to the financial impact of violence within their family environment.
Friends with Dignity has many opportunities for people and businesses to get involved such as volunteering, collecting goods, holding a fundraiser and sponsorship. To find out how you can get involved, head to www.friendswithdignity.org.au or email community@friendswithdignity.org.au.
