MPAQ Now Offers Gas Courses Online

In response to member feedback, MPAQ is now delivering gas courses online to offer flexibility to students. This will enable students from regional areas who have limited access to gas training and those who cannot take time off work to complete the required units. This is a pilot program and we will continue to evaluate and refine to better suit industry needs. 

As of now, only 3 out of the 4 certificate IV gas courses will be available online: 

• CPCPCM4011 Carry out work-based risk processes
• CPCPGS4011 Design and size consumer gas installations
• CPCPCM4012 Estimate and cost work

Certificate IV Gas Courses

Students wishing to progress from an interim gas licence to a full gas licence in Queensland are required to complete the four Certificate IV competencies below while their interim gas work licence is still valid:

• CPCPCM4011 Carry out work-based risk processes
• CPCPGS4011 Design and size consumer gas installations
• CPCPCM4012 Estimate and cost work
• CPCPGS4022 Service type a gas appliances

If you wish to complete our gas courses but don't have an interim gas licence, see below:

• If you have completed a Certificate III in Plumbing or Certificate III in Gas Fitting within the last 12 months, you can apply directly for an interim gas licence. Otherwise, if you miss this window, you will have to do a refresher gas course.
• To apply for an interim gas licence, contact the Resources, Safety and Health Queensland office for further information about licensing.
