Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) is here to help you connect with the skilling and training you need. We know how important it is to invest in your skills, so it’s our mission to make it easier for you by:

• subsidising your training costs;
• connecting you with Registered Training Organisations; and
• providing industry research and information.

So how do we do this? We’re funded by an independent industry training levy — basically, whenever there’s a construction project over a certain size we receive a small percentage of the cost — and we use this money to subsidise your training.

Short Courses

Our Short Courses are designed to help you update your skills and knowledge within a specific skill set. They are perfect if you are:

• already working in the construction industry;
• seeking to increase your knowledge in a targeted area, up-skill or cross-skill; or
• perhaps have been asked by your boss to complete additional training.

Skills Assessment and Gap Training

Our Skills Assessment and Gap Training (SAGT) program is designed to help identify the skills you already have, and provide the gap training you need to attain a nationally recognised qualification. SAGT is perfect if you:

• already work in the construction industry but don’t hold a formal qualification;
• previously worked in the construction industry and would like to return to it but don’t hold a formal qualification; or
• are new to the construction industry and want to have your skills and experience recognised.

Higher Level Skills

Our Higher Level Skills program is designed to assist you in increasing your knowledge to move into a higher-level role in the construction industry. The Higher Levels Skills program provides you with a nationally accredited qualification including Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma. This program is perfect if you are:

• already working in the construction industry and would like to upskill;
• seeking career development; or
• interested in gaining new skills and knowledge.
