Sture Ericson applied for the patent on his first designed AAV in July 1973. It was seen as a great technological development, as it allowed for a reduction in the number of vents to atmosphere on a drainage system.
Since then, Studor has been leading the way in drainage ventilation technology, providing solutions through new and innovative products which meet the requirements of all types of building drainage systems. By controlling pressure fluctuations in the drainage system through active ventilation, the Studor product range protects the only barrier between the drainage system and the habitable space – the water trap seal.
The “Active Vented” stack system incorporating Studor P.A.P.A’s (Positive Air Pressure Attenuator’s) and AAV’s (Air Admittance Valves) represents a complete and unique stack system for multi-storey buildings. In addition to removing the need for relief, branch and stack vents, it provides a better functioning system compared to other stack solutions. This is achievable as the products are installed at the “point of need”, allowing for much more instant reaction to pressure issues within the system. It also reduces material costs, installation time, service space, slab & roof penetrations and passive fire protection measures, allowing you to meet your project targets and sustainability goals.
Advantages of the Studor Active Vented system are:
- System is not limited by building type or size.
- Suitable for use with any stack material.
- Reduced pipe materials, penetrations and fire collars.
- Can be retrofitted to rectify failing systems.
- Scientifically proven and tested for total peace of mind.
- Hydraulic design support.
- Effective protection against positive and negative pressures within the system.
- “Lifetime of System” warranty.
Studor maintains good stock levels in our Sydney warehouse and whilst we do not sell direct, our products are available nationally through your local plumbing supply merchant.
