An Update from the WPA Committee
Our Women’s Plumbing Alliance Committee is currently focussed on attracting new plumbing apprentices to our trade. We recently met with Construction Skills Queensland to seek some advice and support on a specific project to look at ways to increase the number of students entering into the plumbing industry.

Women's Plumbing Alliance
The Women's Plumbing Alliance was established for the women working behind the scenes and on the tools in plumbing and gas businesses, and we encourage all women in the plumbing and gas industry to get involved.
Women's Plumbing Alliance Mentoring Program
The Women's Plumbing Alliance Mentoring Program aims to connect women who are seeking guidance and support with more experienced women in our industry and, therefore, empower them to grow their skills, business and the plumbing and gas industry as a whole.
Advancing Women in Business Funding
Master Plumbers’ Association of Queensland (MPAQ) was announced in October as a successful recipient in the latest round of Advancing Women in Business: Industry Partnerships program conducted by the Department of Training and Small Business.
Female Plumber Recognised at Leading Industry Awards
Experienced plumber and director of Gold Coast company Demeter Constructions, Rachael Keiley, has won the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Women in Plumbing and Gas Award at the 2018 Plumbing and Gas Industry Awards.
