Contract variations can be an inevitable part of working on construction projects. While contracts are based on the best laid plans and drawings at the commencement of the project, things can change throughout the project such as alterations to designs, working conditions, abnormal ground conditions of which a variation is needed as it may differ to what was agreed to in the contract.
For Construction contracts, there is a process for issuing and responding to variations depending on the contract terms. MPAQ has created a suite of variation templates which align with the relevant Construction Contract. The template variations are included in the contract pricing. Instructions for which template to use for each scenario are included on the templates when they are provided, as well as below.

Variation Notice – Contract for Domestic Works (QLD)
To be issued by the plumber to the client when the client has asked to vary a Contract for Domestic Works.

Variation Templates – Subcontract for Plumbing or Associated Works
Form 1
To be issued by the Plumber to the subcontractor directing a variation to a Subcontract for Plumbing or Associated Works.
Form 2
To be issued by the subcontractor to the Plumber in response to Form 1.
Form 3
To be issued by the subcontractor to the Plumber advising of a required variation to a Subcontract for Plumbing or Associated Works. This must be accepted or rejected by the Plumber.

To be issued by the client to the Plumber directing a variation to a Contract for Plumbing Services.
Form 2
To be issued by the Plumber to the client in response to Form 1.
Form 3
To be issued by the Plumber to the client advising of a required variation to a Contract for Plumbing Services, based on a direction that has been provided by the client.
Form 4
To be issued by the Plumber to the client requesting a variation to a Contract for Plumbing Services. This must be accepted or rejected by the client.

To be issued by the client to the Plumber directing a variation to a Master Contract or Purchase Order
Form 2
To be issued by the Plumber to the client in response to Form 1.
Form 3
To be issued by the Plumber to the client advising of a required variation to a Master Contract or Purchase Order, based on a direction that has been provided by the client
Form 4
To be issued by the Plumber to the client requesting a variation to a Master Contract or Purchase Order. This must be accepted or rejected by the client
